Sundura is a 100% yarn dyed fabric, and the material is strong given its thickness and weight. Sundura is colorfast, resistant to chemicals, and can be easily washed. Polyester fibers absorb very little moisture. This fiber is quick drying, abrasion resistant; and a low cost, durable fabric. Polyester should retain its color for a year at the very least, depending on daily sun exposure and intensity. Sundura Poly Fabric is 10 oz/per square yard fabric, which is one of the thickest fabrics in industry. The PU coating treatment on the surface provides the extra water repellent feature that most fabrics just “spray” on surface only. The PU coating is able to withstand stronger water pressure than the popular Scotchguard treatment that is used in the sofa and cushion industry. Expect products equipped with Sundura to be priced less than products using Sunbrella fabrics. Made in China, 1 Year Warranty

Sundura also features Premium Olefin fabric which is a Taiwanese made, 100% solution dyed Polypropylene fabric with PU coating, approximately 8 oz/per square yard. Sundura Premium Olefin fabric is a woven texture fabric with a course composition that is highly durable. The fabric will retain its color for 1 year at the very least, depending on daily sun exposure and intensity. As an umbrella canvas, our premium fabric cover has many of the same characteristics as Polyester & Acrylic. Sundura Olefin is abrasion resistant, stain resistant and easy to clean. Much like other synthetic fibers, it absorbs very little moisture. This fiber is quick drying. However, Sundura Olefin is one of the best value fabrics and maintains its color characteristics longer.

Sunbrella fabrics are made in the USA, by Glen Raven Mills in SC, produced from tough acrylic fibers. The Sunbrella brand fabrics are not only beautiful, they are incredibly durable. Sunbrella is a 100% solution dyed Acrylic fabric, approximately 8 oz/per square yard. The furniture grade fabrics are made from the same acrylic fibers as the awning & marine fabrics. So the fabrics are tough. Resist sunlight, mildew, rot and most atmospheric abuse. The fabrics are porous, which lets the material breathe, for greater comfort in hot weather. Sunbrella is coated with a soil and stain resistant finish that makes cleanup a breeze. Sunbrella has proven for decades in the US that it is one of the finest fabrics in the outdoor category. Fabric Care & Cleaning Tips – General

Fabrics should be cleaned regularly before substances such as dirt and food particles are allowed to accumulate on and become embedded in the fabric. The fabric can be cleaned without being removed from umbrella frame by simply brushing off any loose dirt, etc. and cleaning with water and a mild soap solution (no more than 100 degrees F). Our recommend cleaning solution for most stains consists of 0.5 ounce of antibacterial dishwashing liquid to 22.5 ounces of water.

Spot wash by sponging briskly with a soap solution of mild soap in lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove soap and air dry. For stubborn stains or suntan lotion, use a fabric spot remover. Follow directions on container. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, and air dry. Synthetic fabric does not promote mildew growth. However, mildew may grow on dirt and other substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean mildew stains, prepare a mild solution of one cup bleach plus two caps full of a mild soap per gallon of water of water. Spray on entire area and allow to soak in. If necessary, scrub vigorously with a sponge or clean rag. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and Air Dry.
